Best eSIM for the Philippines (2026): prices, Smart, Globe and DITO, and eTravel

The Philippines is more than 7,000 islands, and most trips involve at least one domestic flight or ferry: Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Siargao. Hotel Wi-Fi can be patchy, so a data plan does a lot of work. This guide compares seven travel eSIM providers using only their official pages, and covers eTravel, the free registration every arriving traveller needs.

Why the Philippines is different

Networks differ by provider. Nomad lists Globe, Airalo names Smart, and Ubigi lists DITO and Smart. Holafly, Saily, Yesim and Maya didn’t name one on the pages we read. If you’re heading to smaller islands, check which network covers them.

Prices are close together. 10 GB for 30 days runs from $16 (Ubigi) to $19.00 (Airalo), so network and validity matter more than a dollar or two.

eTravel is mandatory and free. Register on etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before departure (see entry).

Quick picks

Most trips

A week or two, normal use

A 10 GB / 30-day fixed plan. Ubigi listed $16, Nomad $17 and Yesim $18.00.

No counting

Heavy use or tethering

A week of unlimited data costs $23 from Ubigi. Airalo ($27.00), Holafly ($27.50) and Yesim ($28.56) cost more. Maya’s global plan is $19.99.

Globe

If you want Globe

Nomad is the only provider here that names Globe. 10 GB for 30 days costs $17, and unlimited comes in 5 days ($18) or 10 days ($33).

Long stay

A month or more

Nomad’s 50 GB for 30 days costs $41, the lowest of that size here (Ubigi $45, Airalo $48.00). For a month of unlimited, Maya’s global plan ($49.99) is lowest.

Step 1: Size your plan for the Philippines

Maps, ride-hailing, transit apps and messaging use little data. Uploading photos and videos and making video calls use much more. As a rough guide, maps and messaging use hundreds of megabytes a day, while video and video calls can use several gigabytes. These are general estimates, not measurements.

Under a week, maps, messages and transport apps

3–5 GB fixed plan

1–2 weeks, photos, social apps and video

10–20 GB fixed, or unlimited

Remote work, video calls, tethering a laptop between islands

Unlimited, after checking its fair-use and hotspot rules

Step 2: Compare published prices

15 days$48.00—$50.50$40 (lowest listed)$44.40
30 days$71.00—$73.90$59 (lowest listed)$65.40

Lowest listed price in the row — means no plan of that length was listed. Holafly ($3.90) and Yesim ($4.08) also sell a single day. Maya sells one global unlimited plan at the same price for every country: $9.99 for 3 days, $19.99 for 7, $27.99 for 14 and $49.99 for 30 (see Maya). Official pages, checked 4 November 2026.

Lowest listed price in the row Validity differs, so compare the small print as well as the price. Where a provider sells the same data amount for several lengths, we show the longest. Airalo also lists shorter versions (for example 10 GB for 7 days at $18.00). Ubigi also lists 10 GB for 7 days ($14) and 25 GB for 30 days ($29). Yesim also lists 30 GB for $38.28. Official pages, checked 4 November 2026.

Step 3: Check the fine print

  • Networks. Nomad: Globe. Airalo: Smart. Ubigi: DITO and Smart. Holafly, Saily, Yesim and Maya didn’t name one.
  • Unlimited isn’t always unlimited. Ubigi says data sharing is allowed but a fair-use policy may apply. Holafly’s plans are unlimited by the day. Where it states a hotspot rule (its Canada and Italy pages), sharing is limited to 1 GB a day, so check the plan page if you plan to tether. Airalo’s Philippines page didn’t state a fair-use limit.
  • Activation windows. Nomad starts a plan automatically 60 days after purchase if you haven’t used it. Yesim and Saily give 180 days. Ubigi’s plan starts when you arrive.
  • No Philippine number. These plans are data-only. Saily sells an optional US phone number, and Yesim offers a 20-minute calling add-on.

What stands out

The widest range of plan sizes on its Philippines page, from 1 GB for 3 days to 50 GB for 30 days, plus unlimited plans from 3 to 30 days, on Smart.

What to watch

Its 10 GB for 30 days ($19.00) is the highest of that size here. The Philippines page doesn’t state a fair-use limit for unlimited plans.

Nomad

Globe60-day auto-start
Philippines from
$41 GB / 7 days
10 GB / 30 days

Unlimited
$185 days; $33 for 10

What stands out

The only provider here that names Globe, and the lowest 50 GB price ($41). 10 GB for 30 days costs $17.

What to watch

Unlimited only comes in 5 or 10 days. Plans start automatically 60 days after purchase.

Holafly

What stands out

The simplest choice: pick the number of days and get unlimited data. A single day costs $3.90, and every eSIM includes Always On backup.

What to watch

Among the most expensive here for 10 days or more, and the Philippines page doesn’t name a network.

Saily

10 GB / 30 days

What stands out

The cheapest 1 GB here ($3.99 for 7 days) and a 3 GB plan at $7.99. You get 180 days to activate and can add a US phone number.

What to watch

Nothing above 20 GB, its page doesn’t name a network, and we couldn’t read its unlimited price for each length.

Ubigi

DITO and SmartLowest 10 GB
Philippines from
$73 GB / 15 days
10 GB / 30 days
$16
Unlimited
$237 days; $40 for 15; $59 for 30

What stands out

The lowest listed prices for 10 GB over 30 days ($16) and for a week of unlimited ($23) among country plans. It lists two networks, DITO and Smart, and the plan starts when you arrive.

What to watch

A fair-use policy may apply to unlimited plans, and its 30-day unlimited ($59) costs more than Maya’s global plan.

Yesim

Hotspot depends on operatorUnlimited by the day
Philippines from
$4.561 GB / 30 days
10 GB / 30 days
$18.00
Unlimited
$28.567 days; $65.40 for 30

What stands out

Every fixed plan lasts 30 days, and unlimited can be bought by the day ($4.08 for one). Its 15- and 30-day unlimited plans ($44.40 and $65.40) undercut Airalo’s and Holafly’s.

What to watch

It doesn’t name a network, hotspot depends on the operator, and its 1 GB plan ($4.56) is the priciest small plan here.

Maya

One global planAuto-renews
3 days
$9.99unlimited data
7 days
$19.99unlimited data
30 days
$49.99unlimited data

What stands out

The lowest price we found for 3, 7 or 30 days of unlimited data. It’s one global plan, so the same eSIM keeps working if Philippines is one stop of several. Maya’s page says "No caps, no throttling."

What to watch

It renews automatically while Travel Mode is on, so turn it off when you get home. The page we read doesn’t name the local networks or spell out a fair-use policy, and we haven’t tested the no-throttling claim.

Will your phone work?

  • eSIM-capable and unlocked. Apple lists iPhone XS, XS Max, XR or later. Settings → General → About should say "No SIM restrictions" next to Carrier Lock (full checklist).
  • Bought in mainland China? Apple says that in China mainland only the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air support eSIM. Many older mainland models use two physical SIM cards instead, so check for Add eSIM in your settings before you buy a plan.
  • Bought in Hong Kong or Macau? Apple notes that certain iPhone models sold there have two nano-SIM slots. Check for Add eSIM in your settings first.
  • Install before you fly. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi and leave the line switched off until you land (install guide).

Entry: eTravel and visa-free stays

eTravel. Every traveller arriving in the Philippines registers on etravel.gov.ph (or the eGovPH app). It’s free, you register within 72 hours before your flight, and you show the QR code to the airline and on arrival.

Use the official eTravel site

eTravel is free on the official site. A site that charges a fee to “process” your eTravel isn’t the Bureau of Immigration.

Visa-free stays. The Department of Foreign Affairs says nationals of 157 countries can enter visa-free for up to 30 days under Executive Order 408, including the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and Japan. Indian nationals get 14 days visa-free, or 30 days with a qualifying visa from certain countries. Check the DFA’s list for your passport and the onward-ticket rules.

Our take

For most trips, Ubigi’s 10 GB for 30 days at $16 is the lowest-cost plan that covers normal use, and it lists two networks. If you’d rather be on Globe, Nomad’s 10 GB is $17. For a week of unlimited, Ubigi is $23 or Maya’s global plan $19.99. Register on eTravel before you fly.

Before you fly

  1. Register on eTravel

Do the free registration on etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before departure and keep the QR code handy.

  2. Buy and install at home

Check your phone is unlocked and eSIM-capable (how to check), then install on Wi-Fi before departure. With Nomad, don’t buy more than 60 days ahead.

  3. Switch on when you land

Turn on the travel line, enable data roaming for that line, and set it as your mobile-data line.

  4. Plan for the islands

Download offline maps and ferry tickets before you leave a city. Coverage on smaller islands depends on the network.
